The preschool currently has 57 children enrolled over two classes, each class has the capacity of 29 enrolments. The classes are: Preschool Red Class and Preschool Blue Class.
In the preschool environment, educators use a combination of free choice play and intentional teaching experiences to support children's development and understanding of numeracy and literacy concepts. During a planned afternoon numeracy session, children were engaged in collecting gumnuts for future use. To support children's understanding of number, educators supported children in developing their counting skills, having each child count out their gumnuts before adding them to the collection.
Children's development of literacy skills are supported in a variety of ways in the preschool. From writing experiences, visits to the library for buddy reading, songs and art.
