Formerly known as English as a Second Language (ESL)
Lethbridge Park PS has a LBOTE (Language Background Other than English) student population of approximately 30%. Mrs Riggs, the EAL/D teacher works with students in all grades from a variety of language backgrounds to support them in learning English.
LBOTE students range from those who are newly arrived to Australia and need basic survival and interpersonal language skills, to those who are trying to access and be proficient in the academic language demands of the curriculum.
Mrs Riggs caters for the needs of the students and works with individuals and small groups in and outside of the classroom as well as occasionally supporting whole classes in English language and Literacy Skills development.
