Our preschool
Why choose our public preschool?
Lethbridge Park Preschool is committed to providing a welcoming, culturally safe place where children are inspired to develop a sense of belonging, becoming and being. The preschool team are highly dedicated educators who work collaboratively, alongside parents and children, regularly undertaking professional learning to create a teaching and learning program that is responsive to the learning needs and interests of each individual child. We value our families as the first educators by utilising their knowledge, experiences and cultures to help drive the educational program, which helps develop a sense of belonging and connectedness where our children and families feel safe. Through this early connection, our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, and all families, become actively engaged in the life of the school (Connected Communities deliverable) forming trusting relationships with the school community.

Meals
Lethbridge Park Public School Preschool recognises the importance of healthy eating in the growth and development of young children and is committed to supporting the healthy food and drink choices of children in our care. This procedure guides educators in the provision of healthy food and drink while children are in care and the promotion of normal growth and development.
Communication
Lethbridge Park Public School Preschool uses Storypark – a secure, private online space to ensure your child receives the best support possible and that you are involved and up-to-date with your child’s development.
Storypark provides each child with an online community that you (their parent/guardian) own and control who has access to, at no cost, for as long as you wish.
Storypark helps educators, children and families:
- improve understanding of each child’s interests and abilities so they receive even better support
- deepen relationships and strengthen communication
- share videos, photos and text capturing children’s learning and development
- create a portfolio of your child’s learning that travels with your child and can be accessed by you forever
- reinforce experiences and deepen children’s learning
- capture family culture and heritage
- involve the children in their portfolio
- interact quickly and effectively through iPhone, Android and tablets
- create smooth transitions when your child moves from one educator/centre to another.
You can choose to add your own stories or leave comments and feedback for children and our teaching team. You can also choose to share these stories with family members if you wish. We hope that you will invite your extended family so that the children have an authentic audience who are genuinely interested in their learning.
Obviously, we have considered the aspects of cyber safety and made sure our teaching team have the knowledge and skills to ensure we are cybersafe. Storypark takes security very seriously. Storypark is not open for anyone to read, it is a password-protected private space for you, your child’s teachers and your family.
Content we add will only be shared with our teachers and the family members you choose to invite. No personal information is shared with any third party.
At Lethbridge Park Public School Preschool our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and is developed to meet your child’s interests, recognising their prior experiences, cater to their needs and strengths, acknowledge and include family contributions to their learning. At the end of your child’s experience with our educational service we hope to have achieved the goals below as these will assist children in their future educational journeys.
The educational experiences provided for our preschool children are guided by the Australian Early Years Learning Framework and by the National Quality Framework. We received a Meeting the Standard rating under the National Quality Rating and Assessment process in 2019.
How to enrol
Unlike NSW public schools, there are no intake areas for public preschools. Enrolment is on application only.
Enrolling in a preschool within a school does not guarantee a place at that school for Kindergarten.
